ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Efficiently clean and sanitize all dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment using both manual and machine methods.
- Sort and stack clean dishes and utensils in appropriate storage areas, ensuring easy access.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Monitor and manage the inventory of dishwashing supplies (detergents, sanitizers, etc.), and inform the supervisor when supplies are running low.
- Regularly check and maintain dishwashing equipment, reporting any malfunctions or issues to the supervisor.
- Occasionally assist with basic food prep tasks when not engaged in dishwashing duties.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Qualifications/skills:
- Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure all dishes and equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Ability to work efficiently, managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with students and supervisors.
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, as needed.
