Job Overview Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Porter/Dishwasher, where your energy and attention to detail will keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you'll be the backbone of our food service operation, ensuring that dishes are spotless, kitchen areas are sanitized, and equipment is maintained to the highest standards. Your proactive approach will support chefs and kitchen staff in delivering exceptional dining experiences across a variety of settings, from restaurants to catering events. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop foundational culinary skills while contributing to a vibrant hospitality environment. Responsibilities Wash, sanitize, and dry all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas to meet sanitation standards. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, sinks, and other small appliances. Follow proper manual handling techniques when lifting heavy items such as bulk supplies or large pots to prevent injury. Adhere strictly to food safety management protocols and health & safety standards in all tasks performed. Qualifications Previous food service experience or familiarity with restaurant or catering environments is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to hygiene, cleanliness, and organization within the kitchen setting. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting culinary staff and maintaining high standards of service. Prior experience in hotel or banquet settings is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
