Position Overview:

As a Dishwasher/Barback at The Modern Bar, you are the backbone of our operation. You will ensure that our bartenders have a continuous supply of pristine glassware, our kitchen meets the highest standards of cleanliness, and our guests enjoy a safe and spotless environment. This is a high-energy role that requires physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and a team-first attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

Glassware & Dishwashing:

Maintain a continuous supply of impeccably clean, polished glassware, bar tools, and kitchen equipment during peak service hours using the commercial dishwasher and manual washing stations.

Restroom Upkeep:

Routinely check, clean, and restock restrooms throughout the shift to ensure they meet high standards of hygiene and presentation.

Bar Floor Safety:

Promptly and safely clean up spills, wet areas, and glass breakage on the bar floor to ensure the safety of both guests and staff.

Kitchen & Facility Cleanliness:

Maintain overall kitchen cleanliness, including surfaces, sinks, and storage areas, adhering to local health and safety codes.

Waste & Linen Management:

Regularly empty trash bins, break down cardboard boxes, and manage dirty linen by bagging and storing it properly.

Food Prep Assistance:

Assist the kitchen or bar team with minor, basic food preparation tasks (such as washing produce, peeling garnishes, or stocking prep bins) on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Previous experience working in a restaurant, bar, or high-volume hospitality environment is a plus, but a great work ethic is our top priority.

Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods (up to 8+ hours).Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, loud, and energetic environment, particularly during late nights and weekends.

Reliable, punctual, and possesses a positive, "all-hands-on-deck" attitude.
