Job Description
Job Summary Join our dedicated dietary team as a Dietary Aide/Dishwasher, where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional nutrition and sanitation services to our residents. This energetic position involves supporting meal service, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and assisting with food preparation and handling. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will help ensure our residents receive nourishing meals in a hygienic setting, fostering comfort and well-being every day. Paid training is provided, and this role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in food service, dietary operations, and healthcare environments. Responsibilities Assist with meal preparation, serving, and clean-up to ensure timely and efficient food service for residents Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, ovens, and food warmers, adhering to all safety protocols Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining areas, and food storage spaces through proper sanitation and sanitation procedures Handle food safely by following proper food handling practices and adhering to dietary requirements for residents with specific needs Support the dietary department by bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and managing waste disposal in accordance with health standards Assist with manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies or equipment using safe lifting practices Follow workplace safety guidelines including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with JCAHO standards for healthcare facilities Skills Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable Knowledge of food production, preparation, serving, and sanitation procedures Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Ability to work effectively with geriatric patients and adhere to dietary requirements specific to their health needs Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and maintaining proper food safety standards Basic math skills for portioning and inventory management Excellent customer service skills to support residents' comfort and satisfaction while maintaining professionalism Experience with food handling certifications such as CPR or other relevant safety training is a plus Join us in creating a warm, safe, and nourishing environment where every resident feels cared for.
