In this role, you will be the backbone of our kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and smooth service flow. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for both guests and staff. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop foundational skills in food safety, sanitation, and hospitality while working in a lively restaurant setting. Responsibilities Efficiently wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, glassware, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures. Assist with bussing tables by clearing dishes promptly and resetting tables to maintain a clean dining area. Support food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup. Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly to support overall kitchen operations. Follow proper manual handling techniques when lifting heavy items such as pots, pans, or crates of supplies. Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the restaurant environment in accordance with kitchen health and safety standards. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient food service and uphold excellent hospitality standards. Qualifications Previous food service experience or restaurant background is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation practices is a plus. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing. Familiarity with operating basic kitchen equipment and understanding of kitchen health and safety standards. Strong attention to detail in cleaning, food handling, and maintaining hygiene standards. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting busy service environments. Experience in banquet or catering settings is advantageous but not mandatory.
