Duties Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment in accordance with safety standards. Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following recipe guidelines. Support meal preparation by assembling ingredients and ensuring timely delivery of prepared items to the kitchen staff. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including counters, floors, and storage spaces, adhering to strict sanitation protocols. Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other small appliances as trained. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food prep activities and ensure smooth workflow during service hours. Follow all food safety management procedures, including proper food handling, storage, and temperature control to prevent contamination. Requirements Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Basic knowledge of food industry standards related to food safety and handling practices. Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and bending frequently. Strong attention to detail with excellent knife skills and slicing techniques for ingredient prep. Familiarity with menu planning concepts and adherence to recipes during meal assembly. Experience operating kitchen equipment safely in a fast-paced environment such as restaurants or catering services. Effective communication skills for collaborating with kitchen staff and maintaining a positive team atmosphere.
