Job Title:
Utility Worker Job Description The Utility Worker supports kitchen and facility operations by maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout food production and service areas. This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment, utensils, floors, walls, and storage spaces; transporting and storing supplies; and assisting with basic set-up and break-down tasks as directed. Responsibilities Wash dishes by hand or place them in a dishwashing machine. Clean and sanitize worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks. Wipe down and polish stainless steel surfaces, doors, and fixtures. Sweep, mop, clean, and vacuum floors. Remove trash and garbage to designated areas. Transfer supplies and equipment within and between storage and work areas such as pantry and dish room. Clean equipment using specific chemicals to ensure sanitary standards. May clean and reassemble kettles, ovens, fryers, grills, and other kitchen equipment as assigned. Inspect equipment for damage or malfunction and report issues to supervisor immediately. Polish silver. May wash pots. Re-stock supplies, such as soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials. Perform basic maintenance duties (e.g., filter oil, replace light bulbs, wipe hood filters) as directed. Attend all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training. Comply with all HACCP policies and procedures. Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner. Comply with all safety and risk management policies and procedures. Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments. Attend training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated. Essential Skills High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Knowledge of sanitation procedures, including basic concepts of food safety. Professional demeanor with honesty and ethics. Ability to maintain a positive attitude. Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments professionally. Maintains professional relationships with all coworkers, vendors, supervisors, managers, customers, and client representatives. Basic computer skills. Willingness to learn and grow. Maturity of judgment and behavior. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Compliance with dress code requirements. Punctuality and regular attendance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in general labor, utility construction, food service, dishwashing, hospitality, customer service, food industry, janitorial work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fulton, MS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
