We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Prep Cook/Dishwasher to join our Dietary Services team in a skilled nursing facility. This position plays an important role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly and ensuring our residents receive safe, high-quality meals in a clean and welcoming environment. The Prep Cook/Dishwasher assists with food preparation, dishwashing, kitchen sanitation, and other daily dietary operations. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys staying busy, working as part of a team, and making a difference for the residents we serve.
Pay Range:
$18-$22 DOE Must be available weekends
Responsibilities:
Assist with basic food preparation, including washing, cutting, portioning, and preparing ingredients Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, trays, and kitchen equipment Maintain clean and sanitary work areas in accordance with food safety and infection control standards Assist with setting up and cleaning up meal service Stock and organize kitchen supplies and food items Properly handle label, store, and rotate food products Remove trash and maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dishwashing areas Follow facility policies, sanitation procedures, and food safety requirements Assist cooks and other Dietary Services team members as needed Perform other duties related to kitchen and meal service operations as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Current Food Handlers Card Ability to speak, understand, read and write in English Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and communicate respectfully with residents and staff Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties associated with kitchen work Must be able to follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures
