Job Description

Title Golf Course Shop Attendant Location City of Griffin Description The Golf Shop Attendant assists in the daily operations and maintenance of the Golf Shop to ensure that the inside components of golf operations are facilitated. The individual in this position will assist the public, golf course members, and guests. Essential duites include the following. Greets all guests in a friendly and professional manner. Operates the point-of-sale system. Follows policy and procedures for proper opening and closing of the Golf Shop. Maintains an accurate cash drawer. Answers the telephone and assist as needed. Schedules and ensures adherence of tee-times. Maintains accurate sales of inventory items in the Golf Shop. Maintains accuracy of customer database. Upsells merchandise and memberships. Assists in enforcing all course rules and regulations. Assists Golf Course Cart Attendant(s) when available. Performs other duties as assigned. Position Requirements Employee must have the visual ability to observe and detect obstacles, other vehicles or equipment, and pedestrians. The employee may be exposed to noise, machinery with moving parts, objects that move, dust, dirt, water and gas; therefore. personal protective equipment is provided and required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. Work is primarily performed indoors in a regulated temperature environment. Knowledge of golf course etiquette. Knowledge of basic golf cart operation. Knowledge of the rules, techniques and equipment related to the game of golf. Knowledge of retail sales principles. Knowledge of golf course rules and regulations. Ability to work well as an individual and as a team. Must present a professional appearance, maintain a positive attitude, and treat others with dignity and respect while responding promptly to golf customers' needs. Must have clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interpret such information. Must have proficiency in computers and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a passion for service. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations. Minimum of one year of cash handling and customer service experience. Prior golf course experience, preferred.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • This is a part-time hourly position at a pay rate of $16.00.
