POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the supervision of the Head Golf Professional, the Golf Shop Attendant is responsible for the sale of pro shop merchandise, the collection of fees, and the registration of players and tee times. Golf Shop Attendants perform a wide variety of tasks, including operating the cash register and stocking apparel, setting up the shop, and providing customer service. Candidates must have a basic understanding of golf and strong customer service skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer the telephone, record incoming calls, and make starting time reservations. Register players and assign tee times; ensure all golfers sign the daily register. Collect fees for green fees, cart rentals, programs, and pro shop sales, and issue receipts for all transactions. Assist with merchandising, pro-shop arrangement, and inventory sales. Maintain general order and cleanliness of the pro shop. Always remain courteous and helpful to members and guests. Make merchandise recommendations to members and guests. Assist golf professionals with daily operations as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic understanding of golf is required. Demonstrated ability to handle money accurately. Working knowledge of basic computer programs. Ability to work independently. Strong customer service skills. Valid driver's license required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
