Asheville, North Carolina Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Activity Therapist, Recreational Therapist, Expressive Arts Therapist, or Behavioral Health Therapist for a 13-week travel contract at a leading inpatient behavioral health center. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing therapeutic group interventions for adult, adolescent, child, and geriatric psychiatric patients.

Contract Length:
13 weeks
Responsibilities:
Complete Activity Therapy assessments and individualized treatment plans. Facilitate approximately four therapeutic group sessions daily. Lead engaging therapeutic activities for adult, child, adolescent, and geriatric behavioral health patients. Document assessments, treatment plans, and patient progress in the electronic medical record. Collaborate with nurses and behavioral health staff to provide safe, patient-centered care. Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and patient care meetings.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, including: Recreational Therapy Activity Therapy Music Therapy Art Therapy Dance/Movement Therapy Occupational Therapy Expressive Arts Therapy Or a related behavioral health discipline Active certification, registration, or licensure in the appropriate specialty, such as: CTRS Licensed Recreational Therapist (LRT/LRT-A) Registered Art Therapist (ATR) Music Therapist (MT) Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT) Or equivalent credentials Candidates with LCSW, LCMHC, or LMFT licensure may also be considered. Experience facilitating therapeutic groups in a behavioral health or psychiatric setting is required. Strong communication, documentation, and patient engagement skills.
