Job Description
This part-time ( 20-25 hours per week) position is under the general supervision of the golf professional, and performs sales, and merchandising support. Work involves the selling of goods and services, collecting of fees, and other duties as assigned. Work is performed with some independence within established guidelines. Work consists of weekends/holidays and irregular shifts. Receive payment from customers for, green fees, cart rentals, merchandise, etc. Count funds, make change, and operate cash register. Maintain records, post and verify accounting transactions and reports. Answer questions and inquiries from the public. Maintain pro shop area and other custodial duties as required. Clean and stage golf carts when required. Function, Knowledge & Abilities General knowledge of the game of golf, its rules, regulations and etiquette. Knowledge of City policies, procedures, rules and regulations relating to the golf course. Ability to operate a cash register and handle funds properly. Ability to operate a computer. (Basic Skills) Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Ability to work independently and confidentially. Ability to read, comprehend, implement, and complete written and/or oral directions. Ability to maintain acceptable attendance record. Ability to perform assigned duties timely and effectively while complying with safety rules. Ability to follow directions and complete assignments on time. Ability to project a professional image and maintain customer relations. Interact courteously and effectively with the public, officials, supervisors and co-workers. Willingness and ability to comply with the City's regulations and procedures. Qualifications Valid North Carolina Driver's License. Use of one hand with majority of fingers, good vision (corrected), good hearing (corrected). Ability to walk, stand, bend, balance and stoop. Ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs. Citizens have high expectations of the services at the golf course. This valuable position assists staff with the professional operation of the golf course throughout the year.
