Job Summary We are seeking a vigilant and proactive Usher/Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our venue, staff, visitors, and assets. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment through effective surveillance, access control, conflict management, and emergency response procedures. Your energetic presence and keen attention to detail will help create a welcoming yet secure atmosphere for all attendees and staff. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your security expertise while delivering exceptional customer service. Duties Monitor entrances and exits using access control systems to verify authorized personnel and visitors. Conduct regular patrols of the premises. Manage crowd control and assist with event flow to ensure safety and orderliness. Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, utilizing first aid, CPR, AED operation, or fire safety procedures as needed. Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or other occurrences with clarity and accuracy. Perform background checks on new staff or vendors as part of compliance with security regulations. De-escalate conflicts using conflict management techniques while maintaining professionalism and calmness. Requirements Proven experience in security roles, law enforcement, military service, or related fields Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting when necessary. Strong understanding of physical security principles, incident report writing, and emergency response procedures. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage conflict de-escalation effectively. Physical fitness to stand for extended periods, patrol large areas, and perform heavy lifting when required. Familiarity with security regulations compliance and performing background checks.
