Job Description

Gain practical work experience through providing customer service to all Student Recreation Center (SRC) patrons and guests, assisting users in the various areas of the SRC, performing general maintenance and custodial duties, monitoring designated areas of the facility for the safety of patrons, have knowledge of, and enforce SRC rules, regulations, policies, and SRC Welcome Desk procedures.
Career Readiness Competencies :
Communication Critical Thinking Professionalism Front Desk Operations:
Greet and interact with patrons, sell membership passes and program registrations, perform and reconcile sales transactions (cash handling), process locker rentals and court reservations, and operate various computer applications
Equipment Management:
Distribute and inspect rental equipment, assist with setup and takedown of sports equipment (nets, etc.), conduct periodic inspections of facilities and equipment, and maintain/log lost and found items
Customer Service:
Provide excellent service, maintain positive rapport with patrons and coworkers, resolve conflict, and make phone calls to staff and patrons as needed
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce all policies and procedures for equipment, facilities, and Welcome Desk area; serve as first responder to accidents/incidents; know location and operation of alarms and fire extinguishers; document accidents, injuries, and incidents
Facility Maintenance:
Perform maintenance and custodial duties in assigned areas
Administrative:
Attend mandatory staff meetings and trainings, work special events outside normal hours as needed, participate in Student Development and Leadership program, adhere to all policies outlined in Recreation and Wellness Student Employee Manual, support the mission of Recreation and Wellness, and perform other duties as assigned Possess and maintain current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, professional mannerisms, and a friendly demeanor. Work independently and in a team. No previous experience necessary. Continuous standing. Regularly lift 20-50 pounds. Willingness to relocate a variety of fitness equipment.
