PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Rental & Park Attendant supports daily operations at Talisker Club's Adventure Camp by providing exceptional member service across the Moondance Park and Adventure Camp activity areas. This role assists with ice skating, Nordic skiing, fat biking, and snowshoeing equipment check-out and check-in, as well as participant orientation, activity-area safety, amenity support, snack and beverage stocking, and the upkeep of a clean, organized, and welcoming outdoor environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with families, has a passion for outdoor recreation, and takes pride in delivering polished, attentive service in a private club setting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Welcome members and guests with warm, professional, and attentive service consistent with Talisker Club standards. Maintain a thorough knowledge of Talisker Club amenities, programs, events, and recreational offerings to confidently answer member questions, provide recommendations, and enhance the overall member experience. Anticipate member needs and proactively provide assistance to create exceptional and personalized experiences. Assist with check-out, check-in, fitting, inspection, cleaning, and organization of ice skating, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing and fat tire biking rental equipment. Provide basic instruction on proper equipment use and help members select appropriate equipment based on activity, size, skill level, and conditions. Assist with facilitation of the Adventure Camp snow tubing hill, including operating a snowmobile. Perform opening, closing, and ongoing safety checks of rental areas, equipment, and surrounding activity spaces. Maintain accurate rental records, waivers, reservations, and equipment logs as directed. Monitor activity areas to promote safe, respectful, and enjoyable use by members and guests of all ages. Communicate equipment damage, safety concerns, supply needs, or operational issues promptly to a supervisor. Assist with setup, breakdown, cleaning, and general upkeep of Adventure Camp and Moondance Park facilities, activity areas, and storage spaces. Follow established Lost & Found procedures for member belongings. Support other Adventure Camp activities and events as needed, including family programming and outdoor experiences. Respond calmly and appropriately to incidents, injuries, weather changes, or emergency situations according to established procedures. Represent Talisker Club as a knowledgeable, courteous ambassador for outdoor recreation, family fun, and member engagement. Other duties as assigned .
ACTIVITY-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Opening Procedures Open Adventure Camp or Moondance Park facilities and activity areas according to established operating procedures. Conduct opening inspections of facilities, rental equipment, communication devices, first aid supplies, and activity spaces. Stage rental equipment, member amenities, snacks, beverages, and activity areas for daily operations. Maintain communication with supervisors and team members and promptly respond to operational or emergency communications. Ice Rink Operations Assist with daily rink appearance and organization and participant orientation. Fit ice skates and helmets according to established procedures. Support staff during social events at the ice rink. Monitor skaters and spectators to ensure compliance with rules and operating procedures. Snowshoe & Nordic Assist members and guests with the rental and use of snowshoes & both skate and classic Nordic skis, boots, and poles. Provide orientation on fitment, proper use of equipment, return procedures, and activity expectations. Monitor and communicate changing weather conditions or operational concerns to supervisors. Assist with temporary activity closures or operational adjustments as directed. Fat Bike Rentals & Talisker Club Trail Knowledge Assist with bike rentals, sizing, helmet fitting, and pre-ride preparation. Maintain working knowledge of Talisker Club's trail system, including trail difficulty, access points, etiquette, and current conditions. Provide members with trail recommendations and route guidance appropriate to their ability level. Promote responsible trail use and communicate trail conditions, maintenance concerns, safety issues, and member feedback to supervisors. Member Amenities & Facility Presentation Maintain inventory and availability of all rental equipment, snacks, beverages, and other member amenities. Restock supplies throughout the day and communicate inventory shortages or replacement needs to supervisors. Closing Procedures Complete end-of-day equipment and activity area checks. Complete required rental documentation, equipment logs, waivers, and report discrepancies to the supervisor. Restore facilities, secure equipment and activity areas, and prepare operations for the following day. Complete required closing checklists and communicate operational, safety, or maintenance concerns before departure.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in outdoor recreation, equipment rentals, ice rink or skating operations, guest service, hospitality, winter sports programs, or private club environments preferred. Comfortable working with children, families, and guests of varying ages and ability levels. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Basic knowledge of recreation equipment care, safe handling, and member instruction preferred. Familiarity with fat tire biking, winter trail etiquette, bike sizing, helmets, or basic bike handling preferred. Familiarity with snowshoe and Nordic ski equipment, sizing, safety, and techniques preferred. Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain prior to or shortly after hire. Strong communication skills and a friendly, service-minded approach. Demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and a commitment to delivering exceptional member service. Ability to follow safety procedures, complete checklists, and remain attentive in a busy outdoor environment. Ability to learn and communicate Talisker Club trail information, rental procedures, activity rules, and daily operating updates clearly and accurately. Reliable, punctual, team-oriented, and willing to assist wherever needed. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts during the operating season.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, carry, climb and move equipment throughout the shift. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to lift, stack, carry, and reposition fat bikes, ice skates, snowshoes, Nordic skis and poles, helmets, towels, coolers, snacks, drinks, and other recreation supplies with or without reasonable accommodation. Comfortable working outdoors in changing mountain weather conditions, including sun, wind, rain, heat, snow, and cool temperatures. Ability to work around snow and ice, uneven or slippery terrain, recreation equipment, the ice rink, and the snow tubing hill and snowmobile areas. Must maintain a professional appearance and positive demeanor while working in a highly visible member-facing role.
