Helena, Montana Capital City Health Club is seeking an experienced, business-minded leader to serve as our next General Manager . This is an exciting opportunity for a proven leader who understands how to successfully operate, manage, and grow a business. While previous fitness or health club experience is beneficial, we are primarily looking for someone with strong business, financial, operational, and people leadership experience . The General Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership and performance of Capital City Health Club, including financial management, membership growth and retention, staffing, customer experience, facility operations, and long-term strategic planning. What You'll Do As General Manager, you will take ownership of the overall success and performance of the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide leadership and direction for day-to-day operations and the long-term success of the health club. Develop and manage budgets, revenue goals, financial forecasts, expenses, labor costs, and overall profitability. Review financial statements and key performance indicators to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Develop strategies to grow membership, improve retention, increase revenue, control expenses, and strengthen financial performance. Lead, develop, and hold employees and department leaders accountable while building a positive, professional, and team-oriented culture. Oversee staffing, recruiting, training, performance management, and employee development. Ensure members consistently receive a high-quality experience in a safe, clean, welcoming, and professional environment. Oversee facility operations, equipment needs, vendors, contracts, and operational resources. Identify opportunities for new programs, services, partnerships, and other revenue-generating initiatives. Build strong relationships with members, employees, community partners, vendors, and organizational leadership. Provide reports, financial analysis, and strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors. Partner with organizational leadership on strategic planning, capital investments, and the long-term direction of the organization. Preferred qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, finance, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and relevant business experience will also be considered. Five or more years of progressive leadership, management, supervisory, or business operations experience preferred. Demonstrated experience managing budgets, revenue, expenses, financial performance, and operational results. Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and key business performance indicators. Proven ability to lead, develop, and hold employees and managers accountable. Strong business and financial acumen. Experience establishing organizational goals and driving measurable results. Strong decision-making, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
