We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Entertainment Audio - Department Manager to join our dynamic warehouse support team.
Position Summary:
The Entertainment Audio - Department Manager is responsible for the leadership, administration, logistics, inventory management, maintenance oversight, and operational support of all audio assets used across live entertainment venues and productions. This role oversees audio technicians, warehouse personnel, equipment inventory, maintenance programs, and departmental operations to ensure all audio resources are organized, maintained, event-ready, and deployed efficiently. The ideal candidate is a highly organized leader with strong experience in audio operations, asset management, warehouse administration, and team development. This position serves as the operational backbone of the Audio Department, ensuring equipment reliability, inventory accuracy, safety compliance, and exceptional internal customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Department Leadership & Administration
  • Lead and supervise the Audio Department team, including audio technicians, warehouse personnel, and support staff.
  • Develop work schedules, assign daily priorities, and ensure adequate staffing to support operational and event needs.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, training, and professional development activities.
  • Establish and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with Entertainment Operations, Production, Purchasing, Finance, and Facilities teams to support organizational objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement. Equipment & Warehouse Management
  • Oversee the organization, storage, tracking, and deployment of all audio equipment and related assets.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, asset databases, equipment locations, and service histories.
  • Manage equipment check-in/check-out processes and ensure accountability for company-owned assets.
  • Coordinate warehouse layout, equipment staging areas, and material handling procedures to maximize efficiency and equipment protection.
  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate procurement requests for equipment, parts, consumables, and accessories.
  • Ensure warehouse spaces remain organized, secure, and operationally efficient. Maintenance & Asset Reliability
  • Develop and administer preventative maintenance programs for audio systems, consoles, speakers, amplifiers, wireless systems, and related equipment.
  • Coordinate repairs, warranty claims, and vendor-supported service activities.
  • Ensure all equipment is tested, operational, and event-ready prior to deployment.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, maintenance logs, inspection records, and equipment histories.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and third-party service providers to ensure timely maintenance and repairs. Logistics & Event Support
  • Coordinate the preparation, transportation, and deployment of audio equipment for live entertainment events, rehearsals, special events, and corporate functions.
  • Review production requirements and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Audio Department and production teams regarding equipment availability and operational support.
  • Oversee equipment returns, inspections, testing, and post-event reconciliation processes.
  • Ensure timely fulfillment of equipment requests while balancing department priorities and resource availability.
  • Support production planning by identifying equipment needs and potential resource constraints. Budgeting & Purchasing
  • Assist in the development and management of departmental operating and capital budgets.
  • Analyze equipment utilization and recommend strategic investments to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Manage vendor relationships and obtain quotes for equipment purchases, rentals, repairs, and maintenance services.
  • Monitor departmental expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Participate in capital planning and long-term asset replacement strategies. Safety, Compliance & Facilities
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards, OSHA regulations, and warehouse operating procedures.
  • Conduct regular warehouse inspections and identify corrective actions for potential hazards.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and secure warehouse and office environments.
  • Develop and enforce safe lifting, material handling, storage, and transportation practices.
  • Support emergency response planning and incident reporting requirements.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of all equipment to minimize risk and damage. Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, equipment readiness, workflow efficiency, and customer service levels.
  • Develop reporting metrics related to asset utilization, maintenance performance, inventory control, and labor productivity.
  • Implement best practices for warehouse management, asset tracking, preventative maintenance, and operational planning.
  • Support strategic initiatives related to technology upgrades, process automation, and departmental growth. Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Entertainment Technology, Audio Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in live entertainment, production operations, warehouse management, or audio asset management.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience managing inventories, equipment assets, maintenance programs, and logistics operations.
  • Strong understanding of professional audio equipment and support systems.
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and database tracking systems.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting live entertainment venues, theaters, casinos, arenas, or large-scale event operations.
  • Knowledge of asset management software and preventative maintenance systems.
  • Experience with purchasing, budgeting, and vendor management.
  • Familiarity with professional audio manufacturers such as L-Acoustics, d&b audiotechnik, PK Sound, JBL Professional, Yamaha, Shure, and Sennheiser.
  • OSHA, warehouse safety, or project management certifications are a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
