The ideal candidate, with direct reports, will be responsible in the following areas: Group Swim Lessons Programs Private Swim Lessons Master Swim Program Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business management, a related field. or equivalent work experience preferred Highly motivated, organized, personable, enthusiastic displaying leadership abilities Two or more years of experience in supervising or directing programs as a program and/or center director preferred Adaptable, flexible, and enjoys variety in your work environment including periodic weekends and non-business hour workdays Serve as a leader in the Annual Giving campaign and other fundraising initiatives Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility; implement character development and the YMCA core values in all programs and all aspects of Center operations Must possess a valid Texas Drivers' License and valid insurance American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor or YMCA Lifeguard Instructor certifications required American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer or YMCA Lifeguard Trainer required Water Safety Instructor or YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor preferred Must pass reference checks, pre-employment drug screen, background check and sex offender registry check Essential Functions Manages, directs and supervises aquatics activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations Provide hands on duties as needed including acting as pool manager, head guard, swim instructor, swim coach Conducts and ensures proper maintenance of pools Secures and schedules pool facilities Maintains accurate records of pool chemical levels and facility maintenance Conducts lifeguarding, swim instruction trainings Creates and schedules swim classes, and swim team practices and meets Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information Develops, manages and controls department budgets to meet fiscal objectives Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
