$28.00 per hour (Hourly, up to 40 hours per week) Job Summary As the seasonal Assistant Rink Manager , you will serve as a vital operational leader, partnering directly with the Rink General Manager to drive the day-to-day success and vibrant guest experience of our outdoor ice-skating rinks. This dynamic role offers the unique opportunity to manage on-site staff, oversee facility safety, and maintain the pristine aesthetic standards of the venue. As a visible leadership figure, you will inspire peak employee performance and uphold the elite professional standards, integrity, and community-focused values of Willy Bietak Productions (WBP).
Partner closely with the General Manager to oversee daily rink logistics, efficiently managing workflows during both peak holiday rushes and standard operations.
Venue & Asset Care:
Maintain the highest standards of facility presentation, cleanliness, and operational readiness.
Staff Workflow & Delegation:
Actively direct the daily workflow of on-site team members, delegating tasks effectively to optimize productivity.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce rigorous safety guidelines on the floor to protect both staff and guests. Help maintain strict compliance with Federal, State, and California local employment laws.
Guest Experience Leadership:
Cultivate a welcoming, high-energy environment. Resolve guest inquiries and customer service challenges with professionalism and a positive attitude.
Schedule Flexibility:
Maintain open availability to work varied, flexible hours—including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays across the festive season. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly lead, motivate, and guide seasonal staff to consistently deliver a world-class guest experience. Monitor daily employee timekeeping accuracy and shift compliance on the floor. Provide real-time coaching to staff, escalating performance or disciplinary issues to the General Manager when formal corrective action is required. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Polished verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong time management, problem-solving, and decisive delegation strategies. Ability to maintain professional poise, high integrity, and absolute emotional composure in a fast-paced public setting.
Education & Experience Requirements Required:
Prior experience directly managing, supervising, or leading employees.
Required:
1-2 years of college coursework completed, OR an equivalent blend of supervisory experience in high-volume customer service or recreational facility environments.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment Physical Demands:
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, or crouch outdoors. Frequently lift and carry physical operational assets up to 20 lbs.
Environment:
Primarily an outdoor work environment. Temperature conditions vary with weather shifts but feature limited direct continuous exposure to extreme elements.
