Job Description

Summary of Position The successful candidate will lead the creative implementation of OVA's summer program curriculum focused on diversity, arts and enrichment. In collaboration with families, community partners and OVA staff, the Summer Camp Lead will meet programmatic goals toward the holistic wellness of historically marginalized youth.
Qualifications:
Adept knowledge in youth program management and safety policies and best practices. Evidence of clean criminal history acceptable for working with children by State/Federal law Dependable, consistent and sincere in fulfilling a minimum of 1 school year commitment Experience working effectively to improve youth academic, personal and social outcomes A willingness to adhere to all agency policies and procedures with integrity.
Responsibilities:
Community Outreach. Seek out, recruit and retain staff, volunteers, teen interns, families, partners and youth through neighborhood outreach, volunteer fairs, community events and online media campaigns. Program Development & Implementation. Lead creative curriculum design and lesson planning, fun activities, and data collection. Oversight & Management. Implement curriculum content, materials and concepts into activities using various modes of pedagogy. Ensure that students with diverse learning styles are effectively engaged in an interactive and safe manner. Manage program staff, space, inventory and budget. Individual Student Support. Address each students needs to meet objectives and benchmarks for each child's academic, personal and social growth. Goals Setting. Ensure each student has the support (mentor, tutor, social skills training) to develop long-range goals for academic and personal life. Take a Holistic Approach. Reinforce a positive attitude by making every effort to talk the child through challenging situations and help to change negative thoughts into new perspectives. Be Supportive. As each student strives to improve academically, demonstrates growth personally and reaches their goals, it is imperative support and encouragement every step of the way. Rewarding positive behavior is critical to the success of each student. Support Marketing. Collaborate with staff to create engaging content for newsletters, websites, and social media. Assist organizing special events like student showcases or community service projects. Foster a standard of Excellence. Constantly reinforce the importance of education, as it relates to academic success, personal development and overall quality of life. $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
