Job Description

The Children's Center Supervisor is a key member of the Sun Valley Ski & Ride leadership team, responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Dollar Children's Center. This position ensures exceptional guest experiences while providing leadership, training, and operational support for instructors and staff. Working closely with the Ski & Ride Director and Dollar Mountain leadership, the Children's Center Supervisor helps maintain a safe, organized, and engaging environment for children, families, and employees throughout the winter season. Duties & Responsibilities Support the daily operations of the Dollar Children's Center by implementing department policies and procedures Foster a positive, collaborative, and guest-focused work environment Coordinate with the Dollar Mountain Manager and fellow supervisors to deliver group and private lesson programs efficiently Oversee the setup, maintenance, and daily operation of the Adventure Park Learning Area Assist with coordinating, planning, and supervising children's lunch service Train, coach, and mentor instructor staff on department procedures, safety standards, and guest service expectations Monitor class assignments and instructor staffing to maintain designated class ratios and operational efficiency Support preseason setup and postseason breakdown of Children's Center facilities and equipment Promote a culture of safety by implementing risk management initiatives and standard operating procedures Complete accurate and timely documentation for employee and guest incidents, injuries, and daily operations Assist with payroll administration and other operational reporting Participate in instructor performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and professional development Build positive working relationships with guests, families, instructors, and other Resort departments Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a ski school, children's program, recreation, hospitality, or related field preferred
PSIA-AASI
Level I, Children's Specialist 1, or equivalent preferred, or the ability to obtain Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop others Excellent guest service skills with the ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn department-specific software, including Flaik High school diploma or equivalent preferred Must be 18 years or older Availability to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts throughout the winter season (November-April) Ability to ski or snowboard at an intermediate or advanced level in varying weather and snow conditions Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching Ability to safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in winter weather conditions Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
