This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys running, walking, fitness, wellness, and motivating others. The ideal candidate does not have to be a professional runner, but should be comfortable leading a group, encouraging participants of different fitness levels, and creating a fun and supportive environment. Our group typically completes approximately 2.5 miles each Saturday , with the goal of building endurance and preparing together for community races, walkathons, 5Ks, longer-distance races, and other fitness events. Responsibilities Lead a warm-up and stretching routine before each session Guide the group through approximately 2.5 miles of walking, jogging, or running Encourage and motivate participants throughout the workout Help participants gradually improve their endurance, pace, and overall fitness Make sure beginners and more experienced participants both feel included Promote healthy habits, consistency, teamwork, and goal setting Help prepare the group for upcoming walkathons, races, and other running events Assist with cool-down exercises and stretching after each session Help create a positive, fun, and encouraging atmosphere Communicate with the Chicago Infinity Director regarding attendance, participant progress, and upcoming goals Who We're Looking For The ideal candidate: Enjoys running, walking, fitness, or health and wellness Is energetic, dependable, and encouraging Is comfortable motivating and leading a group Can complete at least 2.5 miles by walking, jogging, or running with participants Understands basic stretching, warm-ups, cool-downs, and exercise safety Is patient with people at different fitness levels Has strong communication and leadership skills Is available on Saturdays Experience in running clubs, track, cross-country, personal training, group fitness, coaching, or wellness programs is a plus, but not required. What We Want This Person to Bring We want someone who can make participants excited to show up every Saturday. This person should be able to push the group while still making fitness feel achievable and enjoyable. Our goal is to build a community that becomes stronger together and eventually participates in races, walkathons, and larger running events as a team.
