The City of Chandler Cultural Development Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as an Events Assistant (Part-time, Regular, benefited).. The position is scheduled to work 19 hours a week with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and occasional holidays, and provide hands-on operational support during performances and events. The City of Chandler Cultural Development Department showcases destination drivers in Chandler through the Chandler Center for the Arts, Chandler Museum, Downtown, Public Art, Special Events, Connection and Impact, and Vision Gallery. Who we are looking for Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone to provide administrative and operational support for food and beverage, concessions and artist hospitality programs at the Chandler Center for the Arts. This role assists the Events Senior with weekly administrative functions, event preparation, inventory and purchasing processes, recordkeeping and artist hospitality. Minimum qualifications A High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of experience in administrative support, hospitality, food and beverage, event operations, customer service or a related field; and must obtain general food safety and alcohol service related certifications within 2 months of hire or promotion; and a valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. This is a regular part-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available. The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results.
