Job Description
The Special Event Staff member is responsible for greeting, seating, and assisting guests at entertainment events while ensuring 4-Diamond service standards and adherence to venue safety guidelines. This role supports the smooth operation of all live performances and special events across Morongo Casino Resort & Spa by providing accurate event information, managing guest flow, and ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Greets event attendees and participants with outstanding guest service and a welcoming demeanor. Maintains awareness of venue admittance policies and clearly communicates any restrictions to entering guests. Assists guests with seating in both general admission and reserved sections. Provides information regarding the venue, show start times, event amenities, and location-specific inquiries. Maintains the safe and efficient flow of pedestrian traffic within the venue and event entry points. Ensures guest comfort and safety by being visible, attentive, and proactive throughout assigned areas. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance or support to other team members.QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Professional appearance and ability to remain composed in high-traffic or high-pressure environments. Strong guest service focus and ability to maintain a positive, respectful attitude with guests and team members. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive or proprietary information. Ability to follow detailed instructions and collaborate effectively within a team. EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Additional coursework in hospitality, communications, or event management is a plus. Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in guest services, event support, or a customer-facing role. Experience assisting with setup, execution, and breakdown of events, promotions, or public gatherings. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on guest satisfaction. Ability to follow detailed instructions and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in a casino, resort, or special events environment is preferred.LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to communicate clearly, courteously, and professionally with guests, team members, vendors, and supervisors in person and via radio; responsible for providing directions, answering questions, and assisting with event coordination and guest service.Lifting and Carrying:
Frequently lifts, moves, and sets up event materials such as tables, signage, décor, promotional items, and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds; may assist with heavier loads using carts or team support.Manual Dexterity:
Regularly uses hands and fingers to handle event equipment, assemble materials, operate radios, process tickets or waivers, and perform setup and breakdown tasks.Mobility:
Continuously walks, stands, climbs stairs, and moves around indoor and outdoor event spaces for extended periods; must be able to respond quickly and navigate crowded or fast-paced environments.Stationary Work:
Occasionally remains seated for guest check-in, ticket scanning, or other assigned tasks during event operations.Tool Operation:
Regular use of handheld radios, scanners, ticketing devices, basic setup tools, and standard office or promotional equipment.Visual Acuity:
Requires near and far vision to monitor crowd activity, verify credentials, read signage or guest lists, and ensure the proper presentation and safety of event spaces.Working Conditions:
Routinely works in high-traffic public areas and event venues, both indoors and outdoors; exposed to variable weather conditions, moderate to high noise levels, large crowds, flashing lights, and a smoking environment in or near casino or guest-facing areas.WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.WORKING HOURS
Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
