Training will take place during October, with regular event work beginning in November. Job Summary KlayKids is looking for a warm, dependable, and fun part-time assistant to help facilitate pottery painting events at local preschools. Most shifts are approximately 2-3 hours , a few weekday mornings per week, typically between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM during November and December. This position is a great fit for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children, can be playful and silly with them, and also stays calm, patient, and positive in a busy preschool environment. There may be an opportunity for continued work beginning in January at our regular preschool enrichment schools if it is a good fit. Responsibilities Set up pottery, paints, brushes, and supplies Guide small groups of children ages 2-6 through pottery painting projects Encourage and interact with children in a fun, positive, and engaging way Help children stay focused and follow simple directions Keep the event area organized and running smoothly Assist with cleanup and packing after events Help create a joyful and memorable experience for each child Skills & Requirements Dependable, punctual, flexible, and committed to showing up on time and ready to work At least 6 completed ECE units Completed Live Scan/background clearance Meet applicable California Community Care Licensing requirements Experience and comfort working with preschool-aged children Reliable transportation throughout Orange County and LA Warm, playful, joyful, and comfortable being a little silly with children Calm and positive in a busy, noisy, or unpredictable preschool environment Able to redirect children with patience and kindness Does not become easily overwhelmed or flustered Willing to jump in and help wherever needed Pottery or art experience is not required.
