The Role We're looking for an energetic, organized Event Manager to grow and run our private events and catering business. You'll own each event from the first inquiry through the final guest walking out the door: you sell it, plan it, and work it. When the calendar is busy, you'll be on-site running events. When it's slower, you'll be out in the community building relationships and filling the calendar. This is a great fit for someone who loves hospitality, enjoys selling, and wants their pay to reflect the business they bring in. What You'll Do Sell and book events Respond quickly to event and catering inquiries by phone, email, and in person Lead site visits and walkthroughs with prospective clients Build proposals, menus, and pricing, and close the booking Manage contracts, deposits, and final payments Plan and execute Work with the kitchen and front-of-house teams on menus, timelines, staffing, and setup Serve as the client's main point of contact from booking through event day Be on-site to run the events you book, including evenings and weekends Coordinate take-out catering orders, including accuracy, timing, and pickup or delivery details Follow up after each event to gather feedback and encourage repeat bookings Grow the business During slower weeks, generate new leads through networking, cold outreach, and visits to local businesses, offices, schools, nonprofits, and event planners Represent us at community events, chamber of commerce functions, and industry gatherings Maintain a pipeline of prospects and past clients for follow-up Share ideas for event packages, promotions, and seasonal offerings What We're Looking For Experience in event planning, catering sales, banquets, or restaurant/hospitality management is a huge plus A proven ability to sell, confidently, warmly, and without being pushy Excellent organization and attention to detail; you can juggle multiple events at once Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfort working independently and managing your own time Availability for nights and weekends, with a schedule that changes week to week based on events Reliable transportation for site visits and networking
Compensation Hourly:
$20/hour, 25 guaranteed hours per week ($500/week base)
Commission:
10% of gross sales on in-house events and 6% of gross sales on take-out catering
