Job Description

The Athletics Event Staff position supports Stetson University by helping provide a safe, organized, and enjoyable gameday experience for student-athletes, fans, officials, and guests. Serving as a member of the Athletics Facilities and Event Operations team, staff assists with the setup, execution, and breakdown of NCAA Division I athletic contests and special events. In alignment with Stetson University's strategic priorities, this position promotes exceptional customer service, teamwork, professionalism, and an inclusive environment.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Employment duties include, but are not limited to: Assist with game day operations for all home athletic events, including football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, and beach volleyball. Perform event assignments such as scoreboard operation, videoboard operation, music, ushering, fan assistance, and other event support duties. Assist with special events and postseason competitions as assigned. Provide outstanding customer service while interacting professionally with fans, student-athletes, coaches, officials, and event personnel. Work collaboratively with Athletics staff and other campus departments. Solve operational issues during events while maintaining professionalism and safety. Stand for extended periods, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and lift/move materials up to 50 pounds as needed. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the athletics event schedule.

Required Qualifications:
This position requires: Energetic, organized, and dependable. Ability and willingness to build positive relationships with fans, student workers, event staff, and colleagues. Ability to work 10-20 hours per week as needed during the academic semester, including evenings and weekends.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
The ideal candidate's qualifications include: Previous event operations, athletics, or customer service experience. Experience working NCAA Division I athletic events or similar environments.
Work Environment:
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in a fast-paced athletic event environment. Position requires evening, weekend, and holiday work, prolonged standing and walking, exposure to varying weather conditions, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
