GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Sales & Event Manager supports the mission of Pensacola Sports by generating revenue through sponsorships and partnerships for Pensacola Sports' events and sports tourism partner events. Additionally, this role will have a responsibility of event management. This position plays a critical role in achieving the financial outcomes set by the Board of Directors.
SALES & PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
  • Identify, prospect, develop, and secure new event sponsorships and corporate partnerships.
  • Manage the full sponsorship sales cycle, from prospecting and relationship development through proposal, negotiation, closing, and renewal.
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with existing sponsors to drive retention, increase investment, and expand partnerships.
  • Develop customized sponsorship proposals and packages that align event assets and organizational opportunities with the goals and objectives of prospective partners.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent sales pipeline, tracking prospects, proposals, commitments, renewals, and revenue performance.
  • Develop and achieve annual sponsorship sales and revenue goals in collaboration with the President & CEO.
  • Maintain accurate sales records and reporting systems and provide regular updates on sales activity, pipeline development, and revenue projections.
  • Coordinate with internal staff to ensure sponsorship commitments and contracted deliverables are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Make customer satisfaction and exceptional client service a priority throughout the sales and partnership experience.
  • Represent Pensacola Sports at community, business, and industry events to build relationships with existing and prospective sponsors, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Assist with sports tourism business development, including bid development, site visits, presentations, and follow-up with prospective events and rights holders.
  • Assist the President & CEO with community presentations, business development meetings, and related follow-up on leads and opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
EVENT MANAGEMENT
  • Serve as the lead event manager for assigned Pensacola Sports events, overseeing planning, logistics, execution, staffing, volunteers, vendors, and post-event follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain event timelines, checklists, budgets, and operational plans to ensure successful event execution.
  • Coordinate with internal staff, sponsors, vendors, venues, volunteers, and community partners to deliver a high-quality event experience.
  • Assist other event staff with planning and execution of Pensacola Sports and Sports Marketing events as needed.
  • Manage Pensacola Sports hospitality areas, including hospitality tents and similar participant, sponsor, and visitor experiences.
  • Identify opportunities to improve event operations, customer service, participant experience, and overall event quality.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
  • Three years of experience in sales, partnerships, sponsorship, sports management, or related field.
  • Demonstrated success in relationship-based sales or account management.
  • Experience working with events and event sponsorship, hospitality, or destination marketing preferred.
  • Comfort working in both strategic (sales, proposals) and tactical (on-site events) environments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform physical activities associated with sales execution, event setup and operations, including standing, walking, lifting, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
