Location Statesboro Campus - Statesboro, GA Department Information Continuing Ed - Admin Job Summary Reporting directly to the Director of Continuing and Professional Education, the Conference Services Manager will manage all aspects of conference planning services for internal and external clients, including but not limited to, creating and managing budgets, MOAs and contracts, venue sourcing, and working with the marketing team to brand and market each conference. Supervise conference planning team members and be the main point of contact for clients. Although this position is officially located on the Statesboro Campus, the Conference Services Manager may be able to have their office on either the Statesboro or Armstrong campus. This position is open to internally active employees of Georgia Southern University. Responsibilities Serves as the leader and supervisor for the conference services team Create and maintain conference budgets Oversees and is responsible for all aspects of conference planning and execution Reviews and approves all purchases, marketing materials, websites, social media posts, MOAs, contracts, registration portals/apps, and budget revisions Conducts all venue searches for new and repeating conferences Negotiates venue contracts and handles all operational logistics for the venue Develops conference planning proposals and presents same to clients and/or conference committees Conducts client and conference committee meetings Works to ensure financial viability of conferences for clients and the Division Is onsite working and troubleshooting issues for all in-person and virtual conferences Evaluates and reports on the overall satisfaction of the client as well as conference attendees Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree Required Experience One (1) or more years of supervisory experience Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications Master's Degree Preferred Experience One (1) or more years of related work experience such as, but not limited, to planning educational or corporate events, working in hospitality and/or a conference venue Two (2) or more years in a supervisory role Proposed Salary $55,000 This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
