Job Description
Muscatine High School is hiring for a Concession Stand Manager/Coordinator. The Concession Stand Manager is responsible for the overall operation and organization of the high school activities concession stand. This role ensures smooth operations during home athletic events by managing inventory, overseeing volunteers, maintaining food safety standards, and handling cash reconciliations. This position will require either ServSafe Manager or Food Manager Certification. This position would require approximately 5-7 hours/week, on average.
The candidate chosen for hire must successfully complete a background check and onboaring with the Department of Human Resources.
This position pays $20/hour.
Bilingual preferred or highly desirable. All positions are open until filled.

The Concession Stand Manager is responsible for the overall operation and organization of the high school activities concession stand. This role ensures smooth operations during home athletic events by managing inventory, overseeing volunteers, maintaining food safety standards, and handling cash reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Sales
Open and prepare the concession stand prior to scheduled event start times.
Set up food preparation equipment (e.g., popcorn machine, hot dog roller, pretzel warmer) following safety protocols.
Manage cash setup, and closing balances.
2. Inventory & Purchasing
Monitor inventory levels and place regular orders for food, beverages, paper goods, and cleaning supplies.
Receive, stock, and properly store shipments
Track waste and track high-demand items to optimize menu offerings.
3. Volunteer Management
Direct and train student and parent volunteers prior to event shifts.
Foster a welcoming, cooperative team environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
Skills:
Strong basic math/cash handling skills, effective communication, and basic organizational abilities.
Clearance:
Must pass a standard school district background check and youth safety screening.
