About Abbott Hospitality:
Founded in 2017, Abbott Hospitality was previously composed of four luxury event spaces: The Abbott, The Bardot, The Harlow and The Austin. All four event spaces are located in the Crossroads Arts District of Downtown Kansas City. Due to client needs as well as customer satisfaction, Abbott Hospitality has now expanded to a National Brand in multiple locations in 2022 including, West Des Moines, IA, Naperville, IL, Canonsburg, PA and most recently Cincinnatti, OH. Abbott Hospitality strives to provide unique, timeless and luxurious event spaces for memorable moments in individual's lives. The spaces are ideal for weddings, corporate events, and charity events. The venues offer a wide-range of sizes from 50-500 seated guests and 250-1,000 guest standing room.
What you will be doing:
The Venue Manager Assistant will manage and execute events occurring within our venue, The Monroe, including but not limited to: Overseeing the preparation and execution of events, ensuring each setup aligns with client expectations and venue standards. Creating and managing detailed room layouts and event timelines. Scheduling and supervising bartenders, security, cleaning staff, maintenance, and venue assistants. Leading transitions between ceremony and reception setups, where applicable. Managing alcohol inventory, weekly ordering, and venue supply procurement. Ensuring the venue is maintained to the highest levels of cleanliness, safety, and functionality. Acting as the primary point of contact for vendors and providing exceptional client service on event days. We are looking for someone who is: Outgoing, personable, and genuinely passionate about events Self-directed with a positive attitude and high energy A strong communicator with excellent networking skills Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Comfortable standing for extended periods and able to lift at least 25 pounds
Requirements:
Must have weekend availability, willing to work evenings, and some holidays.
