Honesty Polish Approachability Thoughtfulness Efficiency Accountability Knowledgeable Local Patient Role Description We're looking for an Event Coordinator to join our team of seasoned professionals. What sets CTC apart is that we both sell and operate our programs, providing a consistent point of contact for our clients from start to finish. Event Coordinators will support the entire team to sell and operate multiple programs from the first call to the final bill. Programs range in scope from a single event or activity to a full multi-day program of events, transportation, tours, activities, and staffing meaning each opportunity is unique and different. Here's more of what the day to day looks like: Business Development Represent CTC as the most fun, engaging and partnership-driven DMC at various industry networking events. Every time you step into an event, you're wearing the CTC name badge with honor. These networking events may be showcasing a new vendor; education/professional development focused; or could be a targeted outing with clients. There may be multiple events per month and attending these are vital to your personal growth and success in the company. Develop and foster working relationships with clients, hotels and convention bureaus. Here's our secret: Business Development is really just doing your job so well that people will love you and want to work with you again. No one wants to be cold called, so we don't do it. Neither will you. Event Management Manage entire program lifeline process including; opportunity discovery, site inspection, proposal design and creation, pre-planning with client and vendors alike, onsite event execution, and final billing. Your knowledge of Chicago will help you greatly as you determine what activities the group might enjoy, what restaurants would work for their meals, what table linen they will love for their gala, and much more. Even if math wasn't your best subject, we will give you the tools to quickly learn how to assemble and manage client budgets accurately and competitively. Communication is our paramount core value. You must be responsive, helpful, timely, and attuned to details and deadlines. Full confidence with Microsoft Office is a must. Many of your days will be spent in Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. The pace of play is fast. It can get stressful. You need to love it and know that we will celebrate our successes as often as we deserve. Other It's a small office. You will work closely with the leadership team for non-program related tasks and duties. Even the owners take the trash out, so we expect everyone will be up for special requests. At any time, there are multiple dogs in the office. Those with severe allergies would probably not find this to be an ideal workplace setting.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will have a minimum 1-3 years direct event experience. A degree in Hospitality or Tourism is preferred.
