Catering Event Staff - Weekday/Morning Availability
PLEASE NOTE
This is not a fixed Monday-Friday morning position. Shifts are scheduled around our catering calendar, but we are specifically seeking applicants who are regularly available for weekday morning load-outs, lunch events, and early-afternoon cleanup. Although many of our events take place in Bloomington, most shifts begin and end at our catering kitchen near Lake Lemon. Applicants must have reliable transportation to the kitchen and should not expect to report directly to event locations.
OVERVIEW
Bonafide Bites Catering is seeking part-time Catering Event Staff with weekday morning and daytime availability to assist with catered events throughout South Central Indiana. Our schedule is based on event bookings, so shifts vary from week to week. Many shifts begin in the morning at our catering kitchen for loading and transportation, continue through setup and service at the event location, and conclude in the early or mid-afternoon. Additional evening and weekend shifts may also be available, but reliable weekday morning availability is the priority for this position. This is a hands-on role that includes event setup, food service, guest interaction, event tear-down, equipment transportation, unloading, and kitchen cleanup. Ideal candidates are dependable, customer-focused, team-oriented, and comfortable performing both guest-facing and behind-the-scenes work. DUTIES Work assigned shifts from event load-out at the kitchen through event setup, service, tear-down, return to the kitchen, equipment unloading, and cleanup. Load, transport, unload, and organize food, catering equipment, supplies, and serving ware. Set up buffet tables, beverage stations, guest tables, and other event areas. Serve food and beverages while providing friendly, professional guest service. Communicate effectively with team members and adapt as event needs change. Assist with cleaning and sanitation at event locations and the catering kitchen, including dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have reliable weekday morning and daytime availability. Must have reliable transportation to and from our kitchen and assigned event locations. Must be comfortable with a variable catering schedule. Weekly hours and shift times are not guaranteed. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to maintain a clean, professional appearance, practice good personal hygiene, and comply with company dress-code standards. Strong customer-service and communication skills. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing event needs. Previous hospitality, catering, food-service, or event-staffing experience is preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work on your feet for shifts lasting up to eight hours or longer. Ability to reach, pull, bend, squat, push, and regularly lift 30-50 pounds. Ability to load, unload, and transport catering equipment, tables, food carriers, and supplies. Ability to work around commercial kitchen equipment, sharp objects, heat, steam, fire, and noise.
