Job Description

The City of Gretna is on the rise. Our community is growing, our economy is thriving, and our vision for the future is bold. As Gretna continues to experience transformative growth, we are seeking a dynamic and motivated Events Coordinator to help plan, coordinate, and deliver a variety of community events that bring residents and visitors together. This position will oversee and manage City-sponsored events, including Winter Carnival, Paws at the Park, Music at the Crossing, and Greenery & Glitter. The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison among contractors, partners, performers, sponsors, event organizers, promoters, the Chamber of Commerce, City staff, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities include coordinating event logistics, supporting operations, and ensuring the successful execution of multiple events throughout the year. This position may be filled as either a part-time employee working approximately 20 hours per week or as an independent contractor. Compensation will begin at $17.71 per hour for the part-time position or $1,500 per event for the contractor.
