Job Description

Event Assistant Talon Room | Lincoln, NE Part-Time | $20-$24/hour Talon Room is looking for a dependable, organized, and motivated Event Assistant to join our team. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys hospitality, working with people, solving problems, and making events happen behind the scenes. You'll help prepare and execute weddings, corporate events, private parties, and off-site catered events—with the opportunity to eventually take the lead and run events independently. What You'll Do Set up and tear down event spaces, including tables, chairs, linens, décor, bars, and buffet areas Assist with executing weddings, corporate events, and private parties Support bar, catering, and service operations Keep events on schedule and make sure the details are handled Coordinate with staff and vendors during events Identify and solve minor event-day problems before they become bigger problems Help prepare equipment and supplies for off-site catering Assist with basic event-related office and administrative tasks Learn our event operations with the goal of eventually running events independently We're Looking for
Someone Who:
Has some previous hospitality, restaurant, catering, banquet, or event experience Is reliable and takes ownership of their responsibilities Can stay calm and make good decisions when things get busy Notices what needs to be done without always being asked Is organized and pays attention to details Works well as part of a team but can also work independently Is comfortable leading others when needed Doesn't mind jumping in wherever the team needs help Schedule This is a part-time, event-based position with a combination of weekday and weekend, daytime and evening hours. Hours will vary depending on our event schedule. Applicants should have flexibility to work weddings and events, particularly evenings and weekends. Physical Requirements This is an active position. You must be comfortable being on your feet for extended periods and able to lift approximately 40-50 lbs. Event setup includes moving tables, chairs, equipment, food, beverages, and event supplies.
Pay:
$20-$24/hour , based on experience and qualifications. Opportunity to Grow We're not looking for someone who only wants to set tables and follow instructions. For the right person, this position has the opportunity to grow into a full-time Event Coordinator or Event Manager role .
