Job Description
POSITION
The Event Staff position is a key player in the delivery of a great experience for guests, clients, and other LAPP staff. The Event Staff will help operate the photo booth or photography setup, including, but not limited to, transporting and setting up the equipment and software, ensuring the best quality photos, engaging with guests to make sure they have a good time, helping guests share their photos online or get their photos printed out, and breaking down the equipment. The Event Staff are the front-facing representation of LA Photo Party and as such, must maintain the utmost level of professionalism, respect, and customer service. The Event Staff is an as-needed position that is staffed based on the schedule of events at any given time. The Event Staff will work in multiple locations and settings depending on the event site. We are looking for high-energy, driven individuals interested in quickly moving up from regular event staff to event leads (with additional pay and responsibility such as: communicating with the client before and during the event to ensure activation details, managing the photo booth hardware, software and accessories on site, and overseeing/directing other LAPP event staff, etc.).ABOUT THE COMPANY LA
Photo Party is an experiential marketing company that specializes in event entertainment and manufactures photo booths and photo booth software. Since 2007, we have partnered with some of the largest corporate and private event planners worldwide, constantly being challenged to develop the latest in immersive activations. LA Photo Party pioneered the first event photography sharing software, Photo Party Upload, in 2011, which is used by hundreds or photographers around the world. From there, we created the world's first underwater photo booth; the world's first photo booth software that includes virtual reality; the Infinite, winner of 2016's and 2017's "Photo Booth of the Year" at Photo Booth Expo; and the Venture, winner of the same award in 2018 and 2019. We operate out of Los Angeles, New York City, and London and service markets all over the world.RESPONSIBILITIES
Loading and unloading equipment for event Setting up photo booths, backdrops, printers, sharing stations, and other equipment Accessing software and graphics for the event and determining proper camera settings Troubleshooting any hardware or software issues on site with the help of the event monitor and logistics manager Directing guests through the photo experienceEXPERIENCE/SKILLS
Excellent customer service, attention to detail, problem solving, and written and verbal communication Ability to multitask and work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments Ability to understand and troubleshoot software and/or hardware Solid working knowledge of DSLR cameras and photography Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, and lift up to 50lbs Ability to maintain a flexible, patient, kind, and enthusiastic demeanor at all times Lives close to Kearny, NJ or New York, NY. Has a car and willing to drive other LAPP staff and equipmentBonus Points:
1-3 years of experience working in customer service or events-based roles Prior experience working with or knowledge of photo boothsSALARY AND HOURS
$25 per event hour Holiday bonus pay also available if staffed for an event on a major holiday Travel is paid at a rate of $15 per hour if booked on a travel event Lead Event Staff receive an additional, flat rate bonus pay of $40-$60 depending on event type As-needed -- the summer and holiday season tend to be the busiest due to an increase in eventsNEXT STEPS
