The primary function is support of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, fundraising done by law enforcement throughout the state. The Special Events Coordinator will report directly to the Development Director. Duties and Responsibilities Work closely with the Development Director to develop an annual action plan for the Law Enforcement Torch Run and other state-wide fundraising events. Serve as the staff liaison to the Law Enforcement Torch Run state committee and coordinate all Torch Run activities. Develop job descriptions and/or manuals for Law Enforcement Torch Run volunteers to assist them in their fundraising activities. Cultivate a network of resource people to assist in the development and implementation of local and state sponsored fundraising events. Edit and design a variety of materials for fundraising and marketing purposes. Assist the Development Director as assigned and necessary. This will include sponsor identification, solicitation and relationship building. Solicit cash and in-kind goods for state sponsored Special Olympics events year-round and any other programmatic needs. Communicate effectively to internal departments to accomplish job responsibilities. Manage online merchandise sales. Represent Special Olympics Oklahoma and the Law Enforcement Torch Run in a positive and professional manner at all times. Assist the Marketing & Communications Director with website, LETR public relations and social media. Assist the Development Director by constantly evaluating ways to bring in new sources of revenue for Special Olympics Oklahoma and the Law Enforcement Torch Run. Assist with fundraising activities and state games as requested by the Development Director. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree preferred with some experience in fundraising, special events, or equivalent business experience. Familiarity and understanding of non-profit organizations' perspective in fiscal development is helpful.
