Min Hourly Rate $15.05 (Standard); $14.05 (Non-Urban); $16.30 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.50 (Standard); $21.00 (Non-Urban); $22.00 (Portland Metro) Position Summary The Marketing and Communications team of the Oregon State University Foundation creates experiences, tells stories and buildsmunities that inspire alumni and friends to join Oregon State University in making the world a better place and feel appreciated for the difference they make through partnerships with the university. As a member of the Marketing and Communications team, this student events position serves as a key support role within the Foundation's events team: staffing events, meeting event guests' needs over the phone and email, and other administrative tasks essential to creating the best possible guest experience at events. This position provides support to the Foundation events team. In this position, students learn and build vital career-readiness skills in the primary areas below: Communication, Teamwork, Professionalism Position Duties Assist with the coordination and execution of events, including:
Pre-event:
Assisting with registration forms, setting up events in Asana, and ing and collating nametags/football pit passes/table tents and other materials needed at events.
Event:
Assisting with day-of set up and on-site guest services support. Event set up may include lifting and moving furniture, standing for 3+ hours at a time, and conversing with donors attending our events.
Post-Event:
Assisting with coding event attendees into our CRM (database), unpacking the Foundation vehicle and returning items to the event closet after each event and variousanizing.
Ongoing:
Responding to events emails, keeping track of event inventory, keeping the events closetanized throughout the year, reserving event spaces and, depending on the employee's background and interests as well as the team's needs, other duties as assigned. Additionally, the employee may participate in occasional marketing andmunications activities, such as stewardship videos for donors. Additional Required Qualifications Qualifications and Requirements Must be a student at Oregon State University and have a general understanding of office practices. Be able to handle interpersonal relationships maturely, thoughtfully, and empathetically, including the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Be able to do manual labor and carry 5-20 lbs. Preferred (Special) Qualifications Working Conditions / Work Schedule Work Schedule This is a part-time position working up to 24 hours per week with the option to work additional hours during breaks. Some nights and weekends will be required, as the employee's school schedule allows, for event staffing. Weekly hours vary based on events scheduled but range from a minimum of 10 hours up to 24 hours a week. All hours will be in person at the OSU Foundation's office, scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. T will also be occasional evening and weekend hours to work onsite at Corvallis events, including some home football games.
