THIS POSITION IS POSTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AFSCME COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT SUMMARY
The Management Technician position reports to the AVP for University Advancement. This employee will provide essential administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth execution of managerial processes crucial for achieving the objectives and goals set forth in the strategic plan. Focused primarily within the Office of University Events, this position will also extend its support across the Division of University Advancement and collaborates with various campus partners throughout the university. Review the PA Specifications for this Job Title. The above duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
: Utilize a variety of designated software platforms to implement automated registration processes, generate comprehensive reports, and manage databases efficiently, ensuring streamlined operations and accurate data management. Regularly update the constituent database with accurate and current contact information, biographical details, and any relevant updates for constituents. Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with alumni and friends of the university through regular, personalized communication, including emails, phone calls, and face-to-face meetings, to foster a sense of community and ongoing engagement. Serve as the primary point of contact and coordinator for designated university or alumni events under the direction of the management team. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and event participants to ensure seamless planning, execution, and follow-up for each event. Develop event timelines, manage budgets, coordinate logistics such as venue selection, catering, and audiovisual requirements, as well as oversee promotional efforts to maximize attendance and engagement. Provide on-site support during events to address any issues that may arise and ensure a positive experience for all attendees. Efficiently manage event logistics and foster strong relationships with stakeholders, contribute to the success and reputation of the university's or alumni association's event programs. Support the Director in the planning, coordination, and execution of special projects, including conducting research, preparing reports, managing timelines, and ensuring all project milestones are met efficiently and effectively.
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Three years of advanced clerical or paraprofessional work which included the collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of office management or program related information. or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. An Associate's Degree may be substituted for two years of required experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Candidates must communicate effectively and perform well in the interview(s). Candidates must have communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues, and community members. The salary for this position is determined by the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.
