Job Description

Company Overview Habitat for Humanity of Tampa Bay Hillsborough is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to eliminating substandard housing locally and globally. Since 1987, we have partnered with community volunteers, donors, and homeowner applicants to build and renovate homes, fostering stronger communities and hope for families in need.
Summary/Objective:
This position is responsible for working with the Director of Corporate Partnerships and Events in planning and coordinating multiple events of varying size and scope for all departments within Habitat for Humanity of Tampa Bay Hillsborough.
Essential Functions:
Coordinating all affiliate events including theme build events, Gala's, tournaments, luncheons, dedications, groundbreaking ceremonies, events for ReStore, and special fundraising events. Securing and negotiating with vendors and ordering and managing items needed for organizational events and other organizational ordering needs. Soliciting and securing silent auction items. Developing invitations, flyers, and event programs (with assistance from Marketing when needed). Developing and managing event web pages. Managing event promotion and communications (with assistance from Marketing & PR). Managing storage of event materials and organization of the storage room. Developing and maintaining event budgets and reports.
Competencies:
Excellent verbal, written, and public speaking skills. Ability to work dynamically on multiple projects with competing deadlines. Experience managing and interacting with diverse staff. Exceptional organizational skills. Detail Oriented. Flexibility to adapt to changing work environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Additional knowledge and skills include extensive knowledge of local philanthropic and business community.
Work Environment:

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, tablets, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate performs the following activities: standing, walking; bending, squatting, use hands, reach with hands/arms, listen, and communicate.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time exempt position. The typical workweek is Monday - Friday with some evenings and weekends required.
Education, Experience and Attributes:
Desire to work towards Habitat's mission. College degree preferred in communications-related field. Three+ years of event planning and/or fundraising experience, ideally in a non-profit and/or faith-based organization. Ability to take initiative and make effective recommendations. Pay:
$45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
