BCE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public benefit corporation. About the Role The Events and Development Manager is responsible for helping support fundraising efforts, donor and volunteer experience and community engagement through events, programs and marketing initiatives each campaign year. Responsibilities Partner with VP Events, Event Chairs and Auction Chairs in all aspects of planning and production of BCE's annual fundraising event which includes the Soirée, Live Auction and Online Auction. Manage/partner on event venue selection, budgeting, contract negotiations, rental management, catering, and onsite logistics as needed. Optimize for net profit and community satisfaction. Establish and manage event timelines and run of show details; Manage volunteer needs, event materials, marketing and promotion activities, event activations, communications and ticketing/fulfillment for a successful event. Ensure/Partner with VPs Business Development to ensure corporate sponsors are incorporated into events as appropriate. Manage and coordinate all aspects of BCE's donor appreciation events including Welcome Back Event, Leadership Circle Events, Distinguished Service and Endowment Event, and Spring Scholar Circle Parties. Work with VP Events, Auction Chairs, Auction volunteers and board members to solicit, receive, collect payment for and distribute items for Live auction, Online auction and raffles. Actively solicit and procure items to add newness and revenue potential to auction. Lead the selection process for and partner with Auctioneer to coordinate a successful live auction. Work with Operations Manager to ensure auctions execution and collection process. Cultivate year round to build a pipeline for future auction items and event donations. Partner with VPs of Business Developments to onboard all new business sponsors. Manage and cultivate existing business sponsors to ensure they are finding value in their BCE sponsorship. Cultivate and solicit new business sponsors. Manage ongoing business sponsor operations to ensure continuity. Partner with Executive Director, Co-Presidents, VPs of Marketing, VP of New Families and VP of Annual Campaign to support annual campaign efforts Create and update marketing resources as needed. Support content creation for blog and social media and emails. Ensure BCE is represented at BIS Performing Arts and Musical performances. Partner with Ops manager and NCL Liaisons for external volunteer needs supporting events, donor thank you notes, etc. Support the ongoing cultivation and celebration of donors, board members and volunteers. Attend weekly 1:1, staff meetings, marketing meetings, bus development and event planning meetings. Attend Board meetings. Manage meals for board meetings as necessary. Qualifications 7+ years of event planning, marketing, program management experience, non-profit is preferred Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Excellent project management skills, time-management skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Creative problem solver with a "can-do spirit" and ability to work independently without immediate supervision Enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed to excellence; not afraid to initiate change Capable of working well with a variety of personalities and leadership styles Strong working knowledge of G-Suite, Wix, Social Media Channels, OneCause, Canva is a plus Proficient with desktop publishing and graphic design software and strong writing and editing skills are a plus Passionate about public education and the BCE core mission; Knowledge of the BSD and community is desirable but not required Role Expectations The Events & Development Manager position is a part-time, hourly role with an estimated workload of 25-30 hours per week during the school year and 10 hours per week during the summer months. The Events and Development Manager reports to the Executive Director and works extremely closely with BCE's Operations Manager as well as Board Members including but not limited to the VP of Events, Co-Presidents, VPs of Business Development and VPs of Marketing. This is a work from home position with the need to attend monthly Board Meetings, occasional evening and weekend events and ad hoc meetings in person in Burlingame, CA.
Pay:
