About Next Steps for Change Next Steps for Change is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals in recovery by providing peer support and training Recovery Coaches who help people define and pursue their own pathways to healing. Our fundraising efforts sustain this mission and expand our ability to reach more individuals and families across the region. Position Summary The Fundraising & Events Coordinator will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising activities, donor engagement opportunities, and community events. This role is ideal for a creative, organized individual who enjoys bringing people together, building relationships, and making a meaningful impact. Working closely with leadership, staff, and volunteers, you will ensure fundraising initiatives run smoothly, align with organizational priorities, and reflect our mission and values. Key Responsibilities Plan, schedule, and coordinate fundraising events, donor gatherings, and community engagement activities Develop event timelines, task lists, vendor coordination needs, and volunteer assignments Support donor relations, including invitations, outreach, stewardship, and thank-you communications Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers assisting with event activities Collaborate with staff to ensure event messaging aligns with organizational mission Track fundraising revenue and engagement outcomes to help evaluate event success Assist in developing creative new fundraising ideas and community partnership opportunities Contribute to social media and basic promotional materials related to events (optional depending on skill set)
Qualifications Required:
Experience in fundraising, event coordination, hospitality, volunteer coordination, or related roles (professional or volunteer) Ability to work independently, stay organized, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks Strong written communication skills, including the ability to draft professional emails, donor communications, social media content, and event-related materials Comfort working in flexible and shifting environments Alignment with the values of compassion, dignity, and recovery-focused supportPreferred:
