www.threestep.com Position Overview Select Events Basketball is seeking a highly organized and dependable Regional Operations Associate to support the planning, logistics, and on-site execution of tournaments across assigned regions. This position plays an important role in ensuring Select Events tournaments are properly staffed, operationally prepared, and professionally executed. The Operations Associate works closely with Regional Directors, facilities, vendors, event staff, and internal teams to coordinate the operational details required to successfully execute events. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively, and is comfortable managing multiple responsibilities. This is a full-time position with benefits and a hybrid work schedule, splitting time between the office and remote work. Office is located in Woburn, MA. The Operations Associate is expected to travel and work approximately 10-15 event weekends annually, primarily supporting tournaments in the West Coast and Southeast regions, with occasional travel to other Select Events markets as needed. Key Responsibilities Event Planning & Logistics
  • Manage staffing for assigned events, including site directors, tournament staff, athletic trainers, admissions personnel, and other event staff.
  • Arrange staff travel, including flights, hotels, rental cars, ground transportation, and meals.
  • Communicate staff schedules, assignments, responsibilities, and event information in advance of each tournament.
  • Oversee equipment, shipping, supplies, signage, technology, and other event logistics.
  • Maintain event preparation checklists and track operational deadlines and deliverables.
  • Ensure event staff have the information, equipment, and resources needed to successfully execute each event. Event Operations
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for event staff, teams, coaches, facilities, vendors, and Select Events personnel.
  • Oversee tournament setup, event-day operations, and breakdown to keep events running smoothly and on schedule.
  • Coordinate facility and event-day needs, including court access, tables, chairs, concessions, branding, signage, admissions, technology, staff meals, and supplies.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and complete post-event follow-up to document needs and identify improvements. Facilities, Vendors & Administration
  • Build and maintain relationships with facility managers, vendors, and event partners while communicating event requirements, timelines, and setup needs.
  • Manage sponsor activations and other partner requirements with facilities and teams.
  • Research potential facilities, court inventory, and opportunities to support future events and regional growth.
  • Manage ticket links, admissions systems, iPads, and other event technology.
  • Maintain organized facility, vendor, staffing, and event information using Google Workspace, Adobe, event-management platforms, and internal systems. Qualifications
  • Previous experience in event operations, tournament operations, sports management, facility management, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple events, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and handle issues in a fast-paced event environment.
  • Comfortable working with facility managers, vendors, coaches, program directors, staff, and other event partners.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and experience with Adobe software.
  • Comfortable learning and troubleshooting event technology, including admissions, registration, scheduling, and other event-management systems.
  • Knowledge of youth basketball, grassroots basketball, or the youth sports event industry preferred.
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours, including evenings and weekends during events.
