Title:

Campus Events Assistant (Part-Time) Job Summary The Campus Events Assistant supports the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of campus events and activities at Jackson State Community College. This position assists with creating positive experiences for students, employees, community members, and visitors by helping ensure events are organized, welcoming, and successfully executed. The Campus Events Assistant provides logistical support and performs a variety of event-related tasks before, during, and after events. Job Duties Assist with setup and breakdown of campus events, including arranging tables, chairs, signage, decorations, and event materials. Assist staff with event registration, check-in, crowd flow, and guest assistance. Transport and organize event supplies and equipment as needed. Monitor event spaces and report facility or equipment issues to supervisors. Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, guests, and community members attending events. Assist with maintaining event storage areas and inventory of supplies. Assist with basic clerical and administrative duties related to event planning and coordination such as event request forms, rental requests, etc. Follow safety procedures and college policies while working events. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the successful execution of campus events and activities. Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous events management experience.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and occasional weekends. Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in customer service, event support, hospitality, or related areas.
  • Experience working with diverse populations in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with college campus environments and student activities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Physical Demands / Working Conditions Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Prolonged periods of standing at times Prolonged screen time Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times

Repetitive Movement Pay Rate:

$22.00/ hour
