Job Description

Job Summary The Campus Events Work Study assists with event setup, operations, and logistics across campus. This role supports the execution of meetings and special events by ensuring spaces are prepared accurately, equipment is delivered on time, and event needs are met professionally. Job Duties Set up and tear down tables, chairs, and event equipment according to Meeting Event Orders (MEOs) and diagrams. Deliver and pick up event equipment across campus in a timely and organized manner. Ensure event spaces are clean, organized, and reset to standard after use. Assist with inventory, equipment tracking, and storage organization. Support event operations including convocation, homecoming, preview days, commencement, and other campus events. Communicate equipment needs, damages, or concerns to the Coordinator of Campus Events. Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and event support. Work collaboratively with team members to meet event timelines and expectations. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Must be a full-time McMurry University student with an awarded Federal Work Study through Financial Aid. Must provide valid identification for employment eligibility (I-9 requirements). Must have a flexible schedule, including availability for early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends. Must submit class and activity schedule each semester. Preferred Qualifications Reliable, punctual, and detail oriented. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Familiarity with campus buildings and locations. Experience with event setup or audio/visual equipment is a plus. Physical Demands Frequent walking, standing, and stair use. Ability to lift, push, and pull 10-60 lbs. Occasional bending, reaching, and extended periods of physical activity. Work Attire Closed-toe shoes required at all times. Must maintain a clean, professional appearance appropriate for campus events. Special Conditions for Eligibility Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining work study eligibility and enrollment as a full-time student at McMurry University.
