Full Job Description Overview:
Mascot & Event Support (Part-Time) The Mascot & Event Support role brings the fun, energy, and guest-focused spirit of the Kemah Boardwalk to life. This team member will perform as a costumed character during events, assist with event operations, and help create memorable experiences for families, homeschool groups, community partners, and seasonal crowds. This is a part-time, guest-facing position ideal for someone who enjoys performing, interacting with the public, and supporting fast-paced events.
Responsibilities:
Perform as a Kemah Boardwalk mascot character during scheduled events, photo ops, and promotional moments. Maintain high energy, positive body language, and character integrity while in costume. Interact with guests of all ages in a friendly, welcoming, and safe manner. Assist the Events Team with setup, breakdown, and on-site logistics (tables, signage, activity stations, etc.). Support event activities such as crafts, games, meet-and-greets, and crowd engagement. Follow all safety guidelines related to costume handling, heat management, and guest interaction. Collaborate with the Events Team to ensure smooth event flow and exceptional guest expenence. Represent the Kemah Boardwalk brand with professionalism and enthusiasm at all times.
Qualifications:
Comfortable performing in a full-body mascot costume for extended periods. Strong communication and guest-service skills. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift up to 25lbs and assist with event setup. Prior performance or mascot experience is a plus but not required.
Schedule & Availability March-July:
Approximately 20 hours per week, primarily weekends with some weekday events.
October, November & December:
Weekends only for holiday programming. Additional hours may be available during peak events and seasonal celebrations.
Pay Range:
USD $18.00 - USD $18.00 /Hr.
