Job Description
The Woodlands Children's Museum is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and creative Event Coordinator to help bring memorable experiences to life for children and families in our community! From special events and holiday celebrations to community partnerships and family programs, our events are designed to inspire curiosity, encourage creativity, and make learning through play fun and meaningful. The Event Coordinator plays an important role in planning, coordinating, promoting, and executing these experiences. What You'll Do
- Plan and coordinate museum events, special programs, holiday celebrations, and community events from concept through completion.
- Develop creative event ideas that support the Museum's mission of educating, empowering, and exciting children and families through play.
- Coordinate event logistics, including schedules, supplies, vendors, performers, volunteers, community partners, and setup/cleanup.
- Work closely with museum staff and community partners to ensure events run smoothly and provide an exceptional guest experience.
- Assist with event marketing and promotion, including gathering information and content for social media, email, website, and promotional materials.
- Communicate with vendors, performers, sponsors, volunteers, and other event partners in a friendly and professional manner.
- Help develop event budgets and track expenses.
- Coordinate event-day staff and volunteers and provide direction as needed.
- Assist with sponsorship and partner recognition associated with special events.
- Support other museum programs and activities as needed. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who:

- Can work independently while also being an enthusiastic team member.
- Has strong attention to detail and follows through on commitments.
- Is comfortable coordinating multiple people, vendors, and logistics.
- Has a positive, welcoming attitude and enjoys working in a family-focused environment.
- This position involves some physical activity as part of the day-to-day responsibilities. This may include standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying items, bending, reaching, and moving around the work area.
- Has experience in event planning, hospitality, education, nonprofit organizations, community programming, or a related field.
- Previous event planning experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who brings enthusiasm, organization, creativity, and a willingness to learn.
Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 25.0 per weekWork Location:
