Non-Exempt Job Summary:
The part-time Event Services Attendant supports events and programs held at Jefferson County Parks and Recreation facilities, including the AMP at Sam Michaels Park and the Jefferson County Community Center. This position assists with event setup and cleanup, concessions, ticket sales and booth operations, guest check-in, parking, merchandise sales, and other event-related assignments. The ideal candidate is dependable, welcoming, safety-conscious, and able to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced indoor or outdoor environment.Supervisory Responsibilities:
None. Duties /Responsibilities:
Set up event spaces by arranging tables, chairs, tents, signs, barricades, concession supplies, and other equipment as directed. Clean and restore event areas before, during, and after events, including collecting trash, wiping surfaces, sweeping, and returning equipment to storage. Provide concession coverage at the AMP, Jefferson County Community Center, and other JCPRC locations; prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with health and safety guidelines. Sell event and concert tickets, staff ticket booths, scan or verify tickets, and assist with guest check-in and admissions. Direct vehicles, assist with parking operations, and help maintain safe and orderly pedestrian and traffic flow in designated event areas. Sell event merchandise and concessions; operate point-of-sale equipment and accurately handle cash and credit/debit card transactions. Greet guests, answer basic event and facility questions, provide directions, and deliver friendly, professional customer service. Monitor assigned event areas, lines, entrances, and exits; communicate concerns and request assistance from management or emergency personnel when needed. Assist event staff, vendors, performers, renters, and program personnel with routine operational needs as assigned. Follow opening, closing, cash-handling, food-safety, facility, and event procedures; promptly report incidents, hazards, damaged equipment, or maintenance needs. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Knowledge / Skills /Abilities:
Strong customer service and verbal communication skills. Ability to operate a cash register or point-of-sale system and handle money accurately. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively as part of an event team. Ability to remain courteous and composed while working with crowds in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work a flexible schedule based on event needs, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to follow food-handling, safety, emergency, parking, and crowd-management procedures. Ability to move between assignments and work independently with limited supervision.Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Previous experience in events, concessions, hospitality, recreation, retail, food service, or customer service is preferred. Must be able to pass a criminal background check. Must obtain a food handler's certification within 30 days of hire when assigned to concession duties. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in indoor and outdoor event settings and may include exposure to heat, cold, rain, noise, crowds, cooking equipment, and vehicle traffic. Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and carrying event supplies or equipment for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation. Parks & Recreation is smoke-free; therefore, smoking and vaping on all company premises are prohibited.Other Duties:
