Responsibilities Assist in food preparation and cooking, including techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and meal assembly to meet quality standards. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring all tools and appliances are maintained properly. Follow food safety sanitizing procedures rigorously to uphold hygiene standards and prevent contamination. Support menu planning and recipe adherence to ensure consistency across all dishes served. Handle food with care, practicing proper food handling techniques during production and service. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area through regular sanitizing and organization of workstations. Contribute to high-volume food production while adhering to dietary guidelines and catering specifications. Skills Previous dietary aide experience or dietary department background is highly desirable. Strong culinary skills including knife proficiency, food preparation, and cooking techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food safety management. Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively. Background in food service or restaurant environments with an emphasis on high-volume production. Familiarity with food industry standards for sanitation, food safety procedures, and catering operations.
