Evenings, late nights, weekends, occasional daytime events About Superdog Superdog has been feeding Ames late-night crowds for about 25 years. We're a hot dog cart that sets up on Welch Avenue, Downtown Ames, and around campus and town for game days, markets, and events. Ask anyone who's been out in Campustown after midnight — they know us. We're a small crew, we move fast, and we take the job seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. What the job is You'll run the cart: set up, cook and build dogs, take orders on the tablet, keep the station clean and stocked, talk to a lot of people, and tear down at the end of the night. Most shifts are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights and run late — usually starting at 8pm and going until after bar close. We also do daytime shifts for football games, campus events, farmers markets, and private events, and those are a nice change of pace. What you'd get $14-$16/hour based on experience, plus tips (tips are real on a busy night) 8-24 hours per week, more if you want it — extra event and pickup shifts are always available for people who want them A predictable schedule: we publish 4-week schedules at least 2 weeks in advance, built around the availability you give us Weekday days mostly free — this fits well around classes or a day job Free Superdogs for yourself Small, tight crew What we need from you Valid driver's license and a clean driving record — you'll drive our vehicle to tow the cart to and from locations, and some of our locations require it 18 or older Available late nights on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday (at least three of the five is ideal) Comfortable on your feet for 5-6 hours, outdoors, in whatever weather Iowa serves up Able to lift 40+ lbs Reliable. We'd rather have someone with zero food experience who shows up every time than a pro who no-shows. Friendly with strangers at 1 a.m., including the ones who've had a few Food service or cash-handling experience is a plus, not a requirement. We'll train you. How to apply Apply through Indeed with a short note on which nights you're generally available. We'll follow up to set up a quick in-person chat.
